Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to assist in processing, analyzing, and improving our project accounting. This person will become a super user in our new ERP system and will leverage that knowledge to ensure the accounting for projects is accurate and complete and will report on this information regularly. This person will also be an active participant in improving how we use our system, how we process transactions, and how we design our complex accounting policies.

What Will You Do?

• Analyze project accounting transactions daily, weekly, and monthly through review of ERP and offline data and process adjustments to ensure all project costs and revenues are accurate and in line with our accounting policies and report on this information regularly.
• Become a super user of the ERP system: be the consumer, inputter, and auditor of information.
• Support, adhere to, and help improve our complex accounting policies for our project accounting, revenue recognition, and inventory.
• Work with Finance and Business Systems teams to continue development of financial reporting package from our new ERP system.
• Measure purchasing and construction variances and drive actions with your reporting.
• Understand Cost Roadmap. Cost Roadmap is a function of time + engineering change + vendor pricing + commodity markets + availability (timing).
• Understand how Actuals and Forecasts compare to Cost Roadmap.
• Recommend Action to preserve, recover, or take advantage of variances between Actuals/Forecast vs Cost Roadmap.
• Assist corporate accounting and finance functions with ad hoc projects, account analysis, and account reconciliation when necessary.

What Are We Looking For?

• 3+ years of experience in a finance or operations role within public accounting firm, retail, and/or manufacturing company.
• Understanding of ERP financial systems (Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred, but not required).
• CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
• Solid understanding of inventory, cost accounting, manufacturing and project-based operations (project experience is preferred but not required).
• Expertise in Excel, from financial analysis to databases.
• Working knowledge of accounting and finance.
• BS degree in accounting or finance field with interest in business.
