Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for all accounting functions for assigned entities within Code and Theory. This person will report to the Code and Theory Controller. The ideal candidate will perform accounting functions within the US Accounting & Reporting while supporting various corporate and business initiatives. Code and Theory network consists of multiple legal entitles and has four subsidiaries. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Responsible for the Monthly Financial Statements for assigned entities
• Fully own month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations, reporting requirements, and variance analysis:
• Proper revenue recognition is applied and compliance with GAAP – Detail understanding of ASC 60
  1. Working closely with Client Finance team to ensure Advance Billing, WIP, Deferred Revenue, Recognized Revenue accounts are accurate and recorded according to ASC 606 and company policy
  2. Cash Reconciliation
  3. Credit Card reconciliations and recording of expenses
  4. AP, AR, etc. subledger reconciliations
  5. Record fixed asset depreciation, intangibles amortization, etc entries
  6. Misc. month end accruals
  7. Reconciliation of Intercompany activity with other Stagwell subsidiaries
  8. Work with the central AP, AR, and Billing Teams throughout the month to achieved desired outcomes for month end close
• Upload approved trial balances and ancillary reports to Stagwell’s reporting tool, Hyperion
• Report weekly client payments to brand management
• Assist in local tax compliance for misc. IRS, state and city requirements
• Assist in SOX compliance by maintaining strong accounting controls and practices over financial reporting
• Assist in the Internal/External Audits: prepare schedules as assigned and conduct audit research and answer questions

ESSENTIALS

• Extensive years of experience in month end close process
• Self-starter who can accomplish assigned tasks with little supervision
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with an ability to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to analyze data
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of team members
• Proactive, reliable and responsible with an attention to detail and accuracy
• Flexible and a great team player
• Deltek - Maconomy or similar accounting software package preferred but not required
• Hyperion/SAP power BI/Essbase experience preferred but not required
• Large holding company/subsidiary in agency environment experience a plus
