Senior Accountant

Description

In this role as Senior Accountant, you will take a lead role in the month-end close process, including recording journal entries, preparing and reviewing reconciliation, and preparing reporting schedules. You will also supervise accounts payable activities, including expense coding, payment process, and the training and development of AP Specialists.

As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for month-end closing process and preparation of financial reporting of various entities, for management's review, and outside auditors. You will also be responsible for the analysis of monthly general ledger account activity, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliation of various accounts, including intercompany activity. You will also lead the external audit and provide information for auditors as requested as well as identify and implement process improvements to drive positive change to the accounting department. In addition, you will assist with training of new staff and mentoring of junior staff, assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls, assist with preparation of year-end accounting information and reporting, assist with preparation of materials for periodic financial, regulatory and tax audits, and assist with purchase accounting of acquired entities and integrations.

Factors for Success

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or other Business specialty
• 3-7 years of experience in Accounting/Finance
• CPA preferred
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Intermediate to advanced technical skills in Excel
• Highly detail oriented and organized with proven accuracy
• Maintain high levels of confidentiality
