Base Salary: $110,000 - $125,000 DOE
**This position will work hybrid in the Oakbrook Terrace office for 2-3 days and 1-2 days remotely.
The value of this position
The Embroker Finance team is looking for a collaborative and detail-oriented Staff Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to be an integral part of the Accounting team, develop best-in-class processes and procedures, and support the development and implementation of our financial systems roadmap. They will work closely with the Accounting Manager and Controller who bring deep insurance industry, startup, and InsurTech experience. The Staff Accountant role will be critical in continuing to develop efficient processes within the Accounting Team while also supporting the Finance team’s success and the company’s growth.
Job Duties
● Facilitate audit / tax prep work
● Coordinate reinsurance accounting and settlement processes
● Contribute to the monthly accounting close process and related reporting
● Maintain and help develop best-in-class accounting and reconciliation processes and
procedures
● Support third party claims administration function as it pertains to Accountin
● Assist in development and maintenance of structured financial controls framework
● Support financial systems roadmap, including systems implementations, integrations
and assessment of GL and ERP solutions
● Participate in and lead Ad Hoc accounting project work
● Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
● BS in Accounting or Finance with CPA designation preferred
● 2-5 years experience
● Insurance brokerage, MGA or carrier experience preferred
● Public Accounting or previous audit experience preferred
● Previous experience with NetSuite or billing systems a plus
● Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks
● Comfortable in a quick and dynamic environment
● Ability to work cross culturally on a global team
● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
● Ability to perform at a high level in a remote work environment
