DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

The Senior Accountant position is a great opportunity to directly impact the transition of our processes, systems, and tools to address today’s finance and business needs. The Senior Accountant will be a key contributor in the monthly close process, auditor support, daily cash management, have ownership of key balance sheet accounts, exposure to complex areas such as revenue recognition and lease accounting, and will have visibility at the senior management level for process improvements, cash management, and monthly reporting analysis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supporting the acceleration and maturation of our monthly close process by streamlining tasks, automating reporting, and enhancing controls.
• Assist in month end close to ensure financials are issued within company established deadlines.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries to general ledger accounts and document business transactions.
• Ensure general ledger accounts are reconciled to subsidiary ledgers accurately and timely.
• Review current procedures and make potential change recommendations to senior departmental management.
• Perform necessary variance and other accounting analysis to identify and resolve any discrepancies or gaps.
• Prepare and distribute management reports and monthly financial statements.
• Have a strong working capital management background to assist in monitoring cash flow, cash reconciliation and forecasting.
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Able to prioritize tasks, independently research, resolve issues, and manage ambiguity.
• Coordinate, compile, and prepare calendar year-end 1099 Forms.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience. CPA or CPA candidate a plus.

EXPERIENCE: 3-4 years in general accounting experience. Strong working knowledge in Oracle, or other Tier 1 Accounting Software, Excel, Microsoft Word and Access.

SKILLS: Independent/decision making ability. Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, analytical and organization skills.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Interface daily with associates at all levels of organization.
