Senior Accountant

The team at GA Foods has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and team player with excellent analytical and strong communication skills. The position requires a quick learner that takes ownership of their work, that can troubleshoot/problem solve independently and is eager to make improvements and create efficiencies. The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records to ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled. They also analyze financial results to identify corrective actions and support the preparation of accurate financials statements.

Primary Responsibilities:• Accurately prepare month-end close journal entries with adequate supporting documentation• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including appropriate identification and resolution of any reconciling items• Compile expense allocations from various departments and ensure accurate account coding• Maintain fixed assets supporting schedules• Review financial activity to identify trends, anomalies and necessary reclasses• Respond to P&L inquiries received from departmental leaders• Perform sales & use tax calculations and complete online filings• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual physical inventory process• Support fulfillment of requests received from external auditors• Assist with special projects as requested by Controller

Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in accounting required• Minimum of 5 years professional accounting experience• Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic team environment• Strong mathematical, accounting and analytical skills, with demonstrated critical thinking, and problem-solving skills• Ability to multi-task, and work in an organized, detailed manner• Process-oriented with strong time management skills• Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities• Strong verbal and written communication skills• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and experience with accounting software (MS NAV experience is a plus)• Experience working in a manufacturing environment or cost accounting experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
