What's The Job?

We are searching for aSenior Accountant to join our York, PA team. As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting assignments for your assigned business unit to include recording and reporting financial transactions, reconciling accounts. You will ensure the organization adheres to regulatory compliance requirements in addition to producing accurate and timely financial statements. You will be responsible for MEC and additional closing requirements through the year. Additionally, you will maintain and identify opportunities to enhance internal controls and support regulatory compliance and business planning by performing analyses while working closely with other departments and business units regarding accounting activities.

What Will I Be Doing?

Here are just a few things you can expect to do daily:

• Perform a variety of accounting assignments within a Business Unit or functional area of responsibility
• Record and report financial transactions and reconcile accounts and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (JSOX) control requirements
• Produce accurate and timely financial statements
• Participate, as needed, in the planning and analysis function for the Business Unit or functional area of responsibility in coordination with FP A.
• Maintain and identify opportunities to enhance internal controls and support regulatory compliance and business planning by performing analyses
• Work closely with other departments and business units regarding accounting activities
• Complete the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement close process, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely as well as analyzing and reviewing financial statements and variances
• Prepare, review and analyze account reconciliations for the organization
• Prepare the monthly reporting packages, including analysis of current actual results to prior period actual results for use in internal and external reporting
• Prepare and submit all financial reporting data to parent company on-time and with no errors
• Prepare and submit monthly commission calculations
• Prepare, analyze, and resolve any and all account reconciliation discrepancies
• Assists in the accounting, analysis and budgeting of various accounts in coordination with FP A.
• Interact with internal and external auditors, Controller's Group and Business Units as required to accomplish goals
• Perform day-to-day activities associated with the monthly financial statement close process
• Proactively notify Principal, Manager or Director of any accounting/reporting issues or concerns
• Position, at times, may require overtime, weekend work and limited travel

What Makes Me Qualified?

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a concentration in accounting
• A minimum of 4 years of full cycle accounting experience
• Previous experience with MEC, Financial Statements, Journal Entries, Account Reconciliation required
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel required
• Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and CRM, computer programs,
• Advance proficiency with robust ERP systems, Irium a plus
• Demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of Accounting theory, principles, practices and regulations including FASB/GAAP and SOX compliance
• Understands requirements for documentation in work papers, disclosures and memos; demonstrated ability to document a broad range of technical issues
