As a Senior Accountant at Groundfloor Finance, you will play a crucial role in the finance department's day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for ensuring financial accuracy.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:
- Record and maintain financial transactions in the general ledger
- Prepare journal entries and ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Track and review expenses, ensuring adherence to company policies
- Manage accounts payable process including timely and accurate processing of payments and correspondences with vendors
- Assist in the timely monthly close of the general ledger as well as preparation of semi-annual financial statements
- Assist in compliance with regulatory requirements and audits
- Collaborate with other departments on special financial projects and analyses
- Provide support for budgeting and forecasting activities
Requirements
YOUR EXPERIENCE + A FEW NICE TO HAVES:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CPA eligibility preferred
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Bill.com) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
