Your role at Baxter

• Are you motivated by our mission of saving and sustaining lives?
• Execute and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes primarily for the UCAN region. General areas of responsibility include revenue recognition (multiple performance obligation revenue allocation), deferred revenue accounting, gross-to-net sales, system accounting instruction monitoring, and aiding in the completion of account reconciliations

What you'll be doing

• Review revenue contracts and operational transactions and apply proper US GAAP accounting treatment and completion of related documentation for audit purposes
• Complete manual journal entries for Month End Close and prepare/review account reconciliations
• Partner with cross-functional business teams to ensure accurate/timely reporting of monthly financial data, including required US GAAP/management adjustments and accounting support
• Review of result (trend, variance, growth analyses) for areas of support
• Execute close processes including communication of task results to key business stakeholders
• Lead process improvement initiatives for areas of responsibility and drive implementation and monitoring post-implementation
• Manage, develop and oversee activities of 3 direct-report accounting staff based in Costa Rica BBS (Baxter Business Service) center

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred
• Demonstration of key accounting/finance proficiencies and qualifications; typically 4-5 years of working experience
• Ability to manage ambiguity and to apply professional judgment.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and financial analysis, including understanding of internal control requirements and relevant business environments
• Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and to effectively escalate or resolve issues to meet deadlines
• Process improvement and process innovation experience desired
• Working knowledge of JDE and consolidation tools (i.e., Hyperion Financial Management) preferred
• Adaptable, self-starter with strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, often cross-functionally
• Respectfully challenge the status quo

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $60,000 to $132,000. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience.
