Senior Accountant

Our client, a growing company in Northern Virginia, is seeking a senior accountant to join their team for an extended contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a degree in accounting (or finance) and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a GL accounting role.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly journal entries for billing, GL oversight and audit responses
• Reconciliation of bank statements and accounts
• Preparation of financial statements, to include P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
• Handle issues in cost accounting and provide guidance

• BS in Accounting or related discipline
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with strong analytical skills
• 5+ years' experience in a corporate accounting role, to include exposure to GL oversight, audit responses, reconciliation, preparation of financial statements, and tax and regulatory filings
