Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Atlanta, GA (hybrid)
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting with the corporate month end close process, working with various stakeholders (both internal and outsourced) to achieve timely and accurate results and utilizing strong technical accounting skills to ensure that transactions are appropriately accounted for in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Treasury accounting functions such as pension and benefits, FX and cash flow hedges, revaluation processes, and stock compensation.
- Responsible for month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Review flux and trend analyses of financial statements data monthly.
- Support internal and external audits, as well as external reporting activities.
- Assess current SOX controls to ensure adequacy. Identify and implement any new controls on existing or new processes, including updating/creating process documentation, collaborating with business process owners, etc.
- Review complex and unusual transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
- Assist with merger and acquisition accounting and integration, including Opening Balance Sheet, Purchase Accounting, Policy review and compliance.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 2 or more years of related accounting experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Systems aptitude with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed CPA or actively pursuing CPA license
- Corporate Accounting experience
- Experience in Public Accounting
- Experience with Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) software
- Experience with Oracle ERP
