What You'll Do
In this role, you'll work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager, Staff Accountant and A/P Specialist supporting the general ledger function, including the monthly financial close, consolidation and reporting, account reconciliation, interpretation and implementation of relevant accounting guidance, internal control environment, and process improvement.

Job Compensation Range
Salary Range: $88,000.00 - $132,000.00
Preferred Primary Location: NYC Headquarters
The annual pay range reflected above for this position is based on the preferred primary location of the role which is listed in the job description. Salary ranges for other locations vary from the range reflected above. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.

What You'll Do
In this role, you'll work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager, Staff Accountant and A/P Specialist supporting the general ledger function, including the monthly financial close, consolidation and reporting, account reconciliation, interpretation and implementation of relevant accounting guidance, internal control environment, and process improvement.
- Assist with the reporting and consolidation of Flatiron's financial statements, including expense recognition and capitalization, stock-based compensation, fixed assets, and lease accounting
- Create monthly journal entries and perform account reconciliations
- Assist with new process and system implementations
- Perform general ledger maintenance functions
- Perform technical accounting research. Document, communicate and implement recommendations and conclusions
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures to enhance various workflows and internal controls within the general ledger function
- Provide accounting support and guidance to the individual business units as part of the monthly close process
- Collaborate with other members of the team, providing mentoring, coaching and guidance to contribute to the team's overall success
- Ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
Who You Are
You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who values the opportunity to think beyond the way things are. In addition, you're detail oriented with 3-5 years of experience in accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Ability to effectively collaborate with other members of the team and cross functionally
- At least 4 years of experience in Big Four or national public accounting firms or 6+ years of combined experience in public accounting and corporate accounting
- Detail oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines
- Ability to think on your feet and change or adapt to ambiguous situations
- Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills
- Goal-oriented, mature, logical, strategic, polished, nuanced, and a quick-learner
- You are familiar with working in a tech-enabled company
- You are excited about understanding and building systems and processes
- You are adaptable and have a desire to learn and develop your skill set to take on more responsibility
Extra credit
- You have experience working in Netsuite
- You are fluent in Japanese or German
