Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions.

Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating with accounting peers and coaching/mentoring junior accountants.

Senior Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for all aspects of the general accounting monthly close cycle, including performing accruals and completing some analyses
  • Serves as the liaison for all accounting related issues/questions/concerns for management
  • Produce all financial reports and statements
  • Routine interactions with other accounting cycle functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll

BREAK DOWN OF DUTIES:

  • 30% - Production of Final Statement
  • 30% Reconciliation – Bank statements, general ledgers, journal entries. And maintaining balance sheets. 
  • 20% - Analysis- reviewing preliminary results; performing inquiries of pre and post financial statements. 
  • 10% - Audits
  • 10% - Reporting: Usage tax, sale’s and use tax, unclaimed property tax reports

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field coupled with 5 years minimum experience
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, Peachtree/Sage, Solomon, Management Reporter, FRx and Planful
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups, Sumif functions and Pivot tables
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to showcase independent judgment, facts and data thought excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to notice and track business trends.

HOURS WORKED

40 hours per week. 

Monday- Friday 8:00AM- 5:00PM (FLEX)
