What part will you play?

• The GAF Energy Accounting team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant who will assist with the monthly financial close, associated financial reporting and overall daily Accounting/Finance inquiries
• This exciting role will report to the Director of Accounting Operations, and will work closely with the Accounting and FP&A team members as well as cross-departmental contacts throughout the organization
• This role will also assist with preparation and review of the tax equity accounting for G-I Energy LLC
• Additionally, this role will develop an understanding of Accounting and Finance processes by analyzing data on transactions within PeopleSoft and Carta AP
• The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a proactive team player with superb interpersonal and collaborative skills

What will you do?

• Support the Director in process improvement initiatives in all disciplines of accounting
• Support the Director in close processes and general accounting functions for both GAF Energy LLC and G-I Energy LLC
• Assist with the preparation of journal entries and processing of accounting data in connection with month-end close
• Generate month-end financial statements (management and financial reporting); independently identify budget vs actual variances and report findings to the Director in a timely manner
• Prepare monthly balance sheet analysis; independently identify and document noteworthy transactions and present findings to the Director
• Review budget vs actual corporate department variances; independently investigate and identify the root cause and present findings to the Director
• Proactively address inquiries from other departments, be responsive, and close matters down timely
• Serve as a primary resource in connection with monthly and quarterly reviews, as well as the year end audit
• Routinely collaborate with Accounting, FP&A and Corporate Stakeholders; propose and execute solutions in response to their needs
• Routinely collaborate with GAF Accounting and Finance personnel regarding shared services performed for both corporate and plant manufacturing accounting
• Participate in ad-hoc and initiatives as required
• Coordinate with the Supply Chain team on the accuracy of the general ledger account coding of purchase orders
• Assist with plant and corporate accounts payable GL coding and processing

What do we require from you?

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA preferred (or actively pursuing)
• At least five years of experience within an Accounting or Finance environment, public accounting experience is preferred specific to financial statement and internal control audits
• Intermediate knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a team environment
• Excellent time management skills
• Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams at all levels
• Self-motivated, positive attitude, committed to learning and personal development, a team player and thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Success with meeting deadlines under pressure and performing multiple tasks simultaneously
• Comfortable working as a team player in a startup atmosphere where no job is too small
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
• Experience with ERP environments like Oracle (PeopleSoft) and SAP

Physical attendance on-site is required 3-days/week
