We enjoy working with empathetic, passionate collaborators who value the work they do. At this time, we are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our remote Finance team.
Who You Are
You've leveraged your strengths and capabilities to consistently bring astute recommendations and guidance to your team. You have a solid knowledge base in Accounting and Finance and an in-depth acumen in billing, payroll, planning and audits. Having the full scope of experience in financial statement preparation, reconciliation, journal entries, balance sheets and making entries to the General Ledger, you are looking to do and see more to support the managing, overseeing, and implementation of process improvements to these areas. Your efforts add to and have led to company profitability as well as customer and contractor profitability. Additionally, You've successfully:

• Held a position in and advanced the function of an accounting department for at least 3 years at a senior level
• Broadened and expanded your knowledge of tax laws and GAAP with demonstrated proficiency in sharing your understanding to internal stakeholders
• Prepared month-end balance sheet reconciliations in a timely and accurate fashion
• Performed General Ledger journal entries and reconciliations on a regular basis
• Monitored daily Cash Management, Account Payable and Accounts Receivable accounts
• Managed or maintained oversight of Billing and Cash Disbursements
• Liaised effectively between the Finance function and Sales, Marketing, HR, Operations and other internal or external stakeholders including Auditors
• Maintained a solid understanding of new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements across the organization
• Demonstrated a Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel or in the Google Suite of products including Sheets and Slides.

What You'll Do At 8th Light
You'll establish and maintain relationships across the organization and with external partners. During your time as a Senior Accountant at 8th Light you will also be responsible for:

• Financial analyses and reports.
• Assisting in submitting revenue projections
• Forecasting expenditure
• Preparing and monitoring budgets
• Maintaining balance sheets
• Entering data for and reconciling general ledger accounts
• Assisting with annual audit preparations
• Investigating and resolving audit findings and account discrepancies
• Identifying and resolving any issues of non-compliance
• Preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns, including transactions pertaining to Payroll, 401K and Benefits
• Contributing to existing/ evolving accounting systems, programs, and procedures by implementing changes and/or streamlining processes
• Carrying out month end close activities in a timely and accurate fashion
• Performing other accounting duties
• Supporting junior staff as required
