Why it matters: As Axios HQ’s Senior Accountant you will be responsible for managing accounting processes including Accounts Payable, Billing, Collections, preparing reconciliations and assisting with month-end close. You’ll report to the Accounting Manager.

Go deeper: In this role, you will make an impact to Axios HQ through the following responsibilities:

• Process customer contracts and issue invoices in Sage Intacct with high level of accuracy
• Record daily customer receipts, own the collections process and maintain customer relationships
• Assist with revenue recognition, adhering to ASC606 rules
• Track and enter vendor invoices in Bill.com, ensure appropriate coding and support
• Process expense reports and credit card transactions in Expensify
• Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
• Adhere to monthly reporting requirements and compliance standards
• Assist with preparation of complex journal entries and account reconciliations 
• Perform variance analyses and research discrepancies for multiple GL accounts
• Critically evaluate current processes, suggest improvements for efficiency, assist with process documentation
• Assist with maintaining internal financial controls
• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

The details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios HQ’s mission and values - raise the bar, stay curious, be inclusive, always, and champion each other - and have the following skills/experience:

• CPA, CPA-eligible or prior public accounting experience preferred
• 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, including fast-paced accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue accounting,and month end close
• Strong organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Sage or similar accounting software and advanced in Microsoft Excel 
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently is required
• Experience in a "paperless" environment is preferred 
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced business environment; as this role includes various responsibilities from clerical to financial analysis

• Axios HQ believes in fair and equitable pay. Annual on target earnings for this role is in the range of $80,000-$95,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills.
