Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, preferably in mortgage loan, real estate, banking or another financial services industry. This role requires a deep understanding of financial concepts, technical accounting, and the ability to perform general ledger reconciliation. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and commission calculations, and will focus on reconciliations and assist with monthly financials and reporting. Responsibilities β€’ Input accurate commission data per compensation agreements to the Loan Vision commission module β€’ Calculate and confirm system calculations of complex commissions β€’ Prepare commission upload worksheet for payroll β€’ Draft and manage compensation agreements for Mortgage Bankers, Production Partners, Loan Processors and other employees as applicable β€’ Review all new and existing agreements and leases β€’ Prepare and post Excel spreadsheets that allocate vendor invoices at the branch, loan or employee level β€’ Process employee expense reports β€’ Maintain supporting documentation and schedules β€’ Document accounting procedures β€’ Prepare monthly reconciliations;Identify and resolve reconciliation differences β€’ Assist with the execution of month-end and year-end closing processes β€’ Assist with annual financial audits, providing necessary documentation and information β€’ Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement solutions to streamline operations β€’ Assist with other finance/accounting projects as requested β€’ Assist Controller with other finance/accounting projects as requested β€’ Other duties as assigned β€’ Must be able to work in person in the Austin, Texas office as needed Who We’re Looking For β€’ Solid understanding of accounting procedures β€’ Impeccable attention to detail, strong analytical skill and able to think strategically β€’ Able to organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner β€’ Excellent time management and prioritization skills to meet deadlines β€’ Detailed, organized, analytical, and accurate β€’ Able to recognize, analyze and resolve problems β€’ Professional, polished, and clear verbal and written communication skills β€’ Able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment β€’ Trustworthy and discreet with confidential financial and employee data β€’ Good mathematical reasoning and number facility β€’ Proactive and self-sufficient, suggesting improvements for systems and processes β€’ Professional work ethic, including timeliness, reliability, commitment, responsibility and focus β€’ Able to meet deadlines but also work quickly when opportunities arise or priorities shift β€’ Excels at collaborating with others, at all levels, to ensure organizational goals are attained Required Education & Experience: β€’ 5+ years accounting experience, preferably in real estate, mortgage loan, banking or other financial services industry that uses commission compensation for payroll β€’ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field β€’ Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word Sente Mortgage is a purpose-driven, independent mortgage banking company headquartered in Austin, TX with branches across the Southeastern states.
