A Brief Summary of This Position:

Our Finance team is growing and transforming. We are looking for a forward-thinking individual to join our team of accounting professionals. Reporting to the Regional Controller, this position supports the accounting and financial reporting functions for multiple manufacturing sites in alignment with Divisional and Corporate accounting policies and procedures and includes inventory valuation and control, completion of dashboards, and financial/management reporting and closing activities. Regular, timely, and accurate completion of reports, charts, and diagrams is necessary to provide a basis for comparison and evaluation. This position is also responsible for providing ad hoc analysis to support financial forecasts, internal management reporting, benchmarking, and monitoring of key cost indicators. The person in this role will work closely with the site personnel to understand and explain performance variances and trends as well as close and forecasting processes.

Essential Functions:

  • This position reports to the Regional Controller and has no direct reports.
  • This role requires up to 30% travel domestically, including overnight stays; occasional international travel may be needed.
  • Hybrid, flexible schedule with the ability to work in the office 2-3 days per week.
  • Responsible for monthly financial closing tasks related to assigned sites.
  • Updating key manufacturing expense and variance data used for forecasting and monitoring of operations.
  • Completion of daily and weekly dashboard inputs surrounding shipments, operational performance, quality, and cost information.
  • Key support for investigating/answering spending trends on MRO supplies and work orders.
  • Collaborate with plant operations to evaluate, document, assign, and improve the effectiveness of the inventory cycle count programs and activities, including creating and maintaining effective controls for Internal Audit.
  • Review, audit, and reconcile inbound and outbound freight expenses ensuring freight is properly and accurately recorded and freight bills are appropriately charged.
  • Prepare accurate, timely financial reports that compare and analyze current results with budgeted results and future forecasts; apply current industry knowledge of new technologies and processes.
  • Assist with cost and inventory report generation for operations management.
  • Complete and summarize weekly forecast updates.
  • Actively participate in your growth and development; Maintain appropriate professional competencies, certifications, licenses, etc., and encourage a continuous growth mindset within your team.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and participate in special projects to positively impact the team and business.
  • Act as a team player, ready to perform other duties as needed and assigned to meet function and business needs.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years relevant experience OR Associate's Degree with 7+ years relevant experience OR 9+ years of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of general ledger accounting experience including account reconciliations, journal entries, and a basic understanding of internal controls.
  • Proficiency in data analysis using multiple tools; interest and experience in applying technical tools to visualize and organize data.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% with regular visits to plant sites.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • An MBA or graduate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • Industry-recognized professional certification.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with an annual revenue base of $50M or greater.
  • 3+ years of experience in cost accounting and inventory reporting and analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze standard to actual cost information.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to work independently within the context of a complex matrix organization.
  • Experience with IFS and/or OneStream systems is preferred but not required.
  • Experience creating dashboards with PowerBI or Tableau.

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. The environment is fast-paced and demanding most of the time. Up to 30% travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrist rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
