Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the corporate accounting oversight of a newly acquired subsidiary. The responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, quarterly reporting to the corporate accounting team, SOX compliance, assisting with SEC reporting, working with the auditors on the year-end audit, and various other projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a public company either as an auditor or in a corporate accounting department, along with having working experience with ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers.

Duties and Responsibilities Could Include:

• Month-end close procedures, including: preparing account reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts, preparing journal entries, and researching expense fluctuations;
• Quarterly financial reporting package submitted to the corporate controller;
• Ensuring that new contracts submitted by sales follow all documented requirements;
• Setting up billing and revenue recognition schedules based on ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers;
• Working with the sales department on how to structure complex agreements;
• Calculating sales commissions and creating commission statements;
• Assisting auditors with quarterly review, annual audit, and internal control document requests;
• Helping build and ensure internal compliance with SOX;
• Assisting with quarterly and annual SEC financial reporting and corporate tax returns.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required;
• Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition is required;
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel skills required;
• Ability to meet internal and external deadlines;
• Extremely detail oriented and able to work independently at times with minimal supervision;
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and ability to confidently interact with all levels in the organization.
