 Senior Accountant (Insurance Sector)
Company : SRS Management Guernsey Limited (“SRS”)
Job Purpose : To fulfil the role by managing the accounts and company secretarial functions for our growing portfolio of business.
Job Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced qualified Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the insurance industry.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Accounting and Financial Management:

- Oversea the production of monthly / quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of varied clients.
- Maintain and ensure that all clients records are kept accurate and up to date.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP / International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Ensure clients are managed in accordance with the company’s procedures and checklists and promptly escalate any issues or concerns to the Director or Compliance Officer.
- Manage the audit process to timetable and respond and address audit queries.
- Preparation of regulatory returns and solvency monitoring.
- Preparation and maintenance of the client’s risk management framework and policies.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including board members, and present financial reports at board meetings.
Company Secretarial Duties:

- Maintain and manage the statutory records/documentation for your clients including the Share Register, Directors Register and Register of Secretaries processing any changes in accordance with the instructions of the client board and in compliance with the procedures manual.
- Oversee the preparation of board packs and minutes from the meetings.
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards and practices.
Client Relations

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Provide excellent client service and address client inquiries promptly.
Process Improvement

- Identify areas for process improvement and, in consultation with the Director, implement creative solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Present improvements to our financial procedures and checklists to the Compliance Committee which support the company's growth and expansion.
Collaboration and Communication

- Work closely with remote teams with colleagues overseas.
- Communicate effectively across different cultures and work environments.
- Be a proactive team player and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience and Education
-
- Fully qualified, with 5+ years’ financial accounting experience, ideally with practical experience of insurance accounting, UK GAAP for insurance companies and IFRS.
- Familiarity with IFRS 17 is beneficial, but not crucial.

- Strong analytical and technical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to using new accounting software.
- Ability to adhere to deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
