Archive is the leading technology platform for branded resale. The company works with more than 50 global brands including The North Face, Oscar de la Renta, and New Balance, to develop innovative resale programs that keep products out of landfill.

Archive is building an ‘operating system for resale’ that delivers a customized online secondhand marketplace site and the underlying infrastructure and operations to plug into all of the other facets of a brand’s global resale strategy. Concretely, this means more brands with resale programs, and more consumers buying and selling used things. Fashion is 8% of global emissions and 20% of global wastewater, and has a huge negative human rights footprint, among other issues. Come join our finance team as the next accounting dedicated hire and play a crucial role in managing the accuracy and productivity of our financial operations. This individual will be responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, general ledger accounts reconciliation, and tax reporting. The Senior Accountant will ensure the company’s accounting functions run accurately and effectively.

About the role

• Assist with the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Generate monthly financial reports for our brand partners and manage correspondences with their teams.
• Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring all financial entries and adjustments are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with invoice generation and timely collections.
• Assist in the setup of formal internal controls and checks.
• Perform account reconciliations and analyses, and review discrepancies to ensure integrity of financial information.
• Assist with financial audits, preparing necessary documentation and explaining results and discrepancies.
• Prepare quarterly/annual tax reports (US and international) related to tax compliance asks.
• Participate in strategic planning and risk management assessments.
• Provide support for ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required.

Skills/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field
• 3-6 years of work experience, ideally within in corporate finance and/or accounting (CPA or work towards a CPA is a plus)
• Demonstrated ability to manage financial statements historically in accordance with GAAP and other accounting standards
• Demonstrated project management skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage complex accounting-related tasks
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects at a time
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bonus: Experience in eCommerce, Marketplace

The team is currently remote-first with a hub office in NY and optional in-person work for those located in the area. We have company offsites twice a year to bring the full team together in person, and occasional travel is expected as part of the job.
