Senior Accountant

Our EMEA finance department is looking for a Senior Accountant. Our head office in EMEA is based in Amsterdam where you have a great view of the city!

You will work closely together with our Junior Accountant, who will help you in achieving the Organization’s goals and objectives.  You will also work closely with the Finance team based in the US and will have the opportunity to learn all about best practices in finance operations.  This position will lead the EMEA Finance team and will contribute to building a solid finance foundation for our EMEA offices.

What will you do

In this position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day finance operations. Your main tasks include:

• Reviewing and posting Journal entries
• Following up on old outstanding accounts receivable balances
• Daily bank bookings in several countries
• Approving payments including the monthly payroll payments
• Reviewing monthly/quarterly VAT returns for EMEA offices
• Preparing and reviewing financial reports
• Monitoring the team e-mail inbox
• Updating financial statements
• Working with external auditors to ensure financial results are accurately reported
• Become point of contact for all consultants/bookkeepers/lawyers/payroll providers in EMEA

What are we looking for

• The minimum requirement for this position is a bachelor’s degree, preferably within accountancy.
• You have worked in a professional finance department (minimum 3 years of experience)
• Comfortable with working under pressure and you never miss a deadline!
• Flexible mindset and excellent social and communication skills
• Highly organized, detail oriented and proactive
• Experience in Microsoft office applications
• Fluent English. Dutch would be a plus.
