Senior Accountant

Ibotta is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding.

What you will be doing:

• Full ownership of specific focus area, including the implementation of process improvements

• Oversee monthly accounting close procedures (journal entries, reconciliations, analysis) for revenue and other areas as needed.

• Implement process improvements in revenue reporting. 

• Support leadership with strategic initiatives 

• Review contracts and current business practice to identify accounting issues and to monitor compliance with the company's revenue recognition policies.

• Participate in cross departmental discussions to assess impact on revenue recognition for proposed projects.

• Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks).

• Work with internal and external business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls.

• Create process documentation and accounting policies and build schedules to support journal entries and analysis.

• Strive to continuously improve and automate the accounting and reporting process and instill proper financial controls, wherever possible.

What we are looking for:

• Core Competencies: Decision Quality, Resourcefulness, Collaborates 

• Technical Skills: Intermediate excel, Netsuite preferred

• 3-4+ years of overall general accounting experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred, CPA preferred. Deep understanding of GAAP

• Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

• Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance.

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required.

• Ability and willingness to meet critical business deadlines.

• Should be a self-starter and enjoy working in a team environment.

Additional Details:

• This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, profit sharing and equity.

• Base compensation range: $80,000-$90,000. This compensation range is specific only to Colorado and may be adjusted based on actual experience. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary
