Senior Accountant

Who You Are 

Spot & Tango is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to join our NY HQ team! In this role you will report directly to the CFO. You have a strong accounting background which you’re looking to apply to a fast-growth business setting.  You will improve financial transparency and enhance processes to improve decision-making and support rapid scaling of the business.

Responsibilities

• Project leadership: act as the point person for major accounting projects to mature processes and systems and improve scalability of the business  Example projects include ERP implementation and outsourcing sales tax calculation and reporting
• Plant accounting:  act as accounting lead for a new production facility.  Work directly with the Director of Manufacturing and Plant Manager to develop accounting systems, performance management systems and own reporting and FP&A for this business unit  
• Budgeting: own budgeting process and variance analysis.  Work with functional leads to develop bottoms-up budgets and scrutinize to ensure capital is allocated appropriately
• Cost accounting: develop a consistent approach for calculating unit economics and margin.  Assess performance over time and working with operations to identify and implement performance improvement levers

Requirements

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance from university/college required; CPA required
• 5-7 years professional accounting experience with a large public accounting firm and/or as practitioner within a business
• Strong understanding of US GAAP concepts and financial reporting
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in
• Strong time-management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
