Job Summary

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant responsible for supporting the Accounting Department by applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information, prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reports. This role performs analysis on financial reports and complex accruals to ensure completeness and accuracy, identifying issues or inefficiencies and recommending solutions. This position reports to the Accounting and Finance Manager.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Contributes to timely and accurate month-end close.
• Prepares journal entries for the month-end close in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Prepares account reconciliations and presents/explains reconciliations to management.
• Prepares and reviews analyses of various account balances.
• Assists in the timely completion of annual review with Independent CPA firm.
• Analyzes complex issues and accounts to answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data, and developing spreadsheets.
• Evaluates and recommends improvements to accounting procedures and systems.
• Performs ad hoc analyses as requested.
• Assists with other duties and projects as directed by management.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with at least 3 years of public/corporate accounting and financial analysis experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPA, or the desire to pursue CPA, is a plus.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills - Excel and Word required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft ERP systems a plus
