Senior Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls as a member of the Finance team. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position contributes to the full month-end close cycle, including recording journal entries, reconciliations, and special projects and process improvements. You will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact as you will work closely with other members of the Finance team and various operational teams to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting. This role will be based in Emeryville, California.
How you’ll contribute:ÂExecute month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for various accounts including but not limited to fixed asset, leases and accruals
Manage fixed asset register and coordinate annual fixed asset count
Communicate and partner with Research and Development teams to develop and maintain robust accrued expense models used for month-end close accounting.
Assist in the procure to pay process as needed. Â
Assist with special projects and system implementations
Develop, expand and refine existing internal controls processes.
Assist in external audit, including gathering audit requests and answering questions from the audit team.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline requiredÂ
At least five years of relevant experience required (including at least two years of audit experience preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills, NetSuite preferred
Effective oral and written communication, prioritization and organizational skills
Able to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools (Google Suite, Slack)
Highly collaborative, solutions oriented, and thrives in a fast-moving startup environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
California Pay Transparency Disclosure:
This position is classified as an exempt salaried position under the Federal Labor Standards Act. The anticipated base salary range for this position will be $100,000-$120,000. You will also be eligible to receive equity, bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the position offered. Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company’s sole discretion and may vary based on location, skill level, years and depth of relevant experience, and education.Â
