Overview
AssuredPartners of Arizona is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing business in Scottsdale, AZ! The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller to provide general accounting functions.

What You'll Do
- Upload monthly platform general ledger (G/L) activity into the Corporate G/L, and reconcile differences. Review and reconcile intercompany expenses to assure expenses are properly recorded. Analyze the platform's monthly balance sheet and income statement to ensure financial information has been recorded accurately.
- Reconcile bank statements from multiple accounts.
- Handle insurance carrier payables and bank deposits.
- Create supporting documentation and have a strong understanding of the assigned quarterly financial statement footnotes. Have the ability to rotate footnotes annually and train others on the previously assigned footnotes.
- Analyze accounting problems and arrive at workable solutions. Evaluate information, identify key issues that need to be addressed and develop courses of action that effectively resolve the issue at hand.
- Manage assigned projects by prioritizing work to meet established deadlines and ensuring that accounting objectives are accomplished while keeping the Controller informed of project status and issues identified.
- Ability to maintain all carrier payables within an established time frame, ability to identify and correct discrepancies in accounts payable, and the ability to communicate with Account Managers when issues arise for their corrections within the platform.
- Ability to review commission statements at month end and identify and fix any discrepancies.
- Strong understanding of month end accounting processes to assist the Controller with closing the month, completing month end journal entries, and uploading necessary reports to platform as instructed.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiencies and drive projects to completion.
- Maintain a well-organized financial data and document warehouse.
- Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred
- 5+ years of Accounting experience within the insurance industry, strongly preferred
- Strong mathematical and Excel skills
- Multitasking, highly organizationed, and time-management skills
