About the Opportunity
Department: Finance
Reports to: Controller
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our fast-growing and exciting culture. You will be joining the Finance team and be involved in independent and cross-functional responsibilities. Most notable, this role will be responsible for managing the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions. In addition, contributing to the goals of the department and design of cross-functional processes that ensure accuracy and compliance in our operations.
You're Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will…
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Produce error-free accounting reports and presentation of financial results
- Coordinate accounting functions and programs
- Develop and execute accounting and cross-functional process improvements
- Optimization of new and existing financial systems to address gaps in internal controls or inefficient processes
- Identify risks in internal controls and creation of mitigating controls to address those risks
- Preparation of internal and external financial reports and statements
- Preparation of ad-hoc financial analysis, projections, and reports
- Lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
- Supporting junior staff as required or assigned; plan, assign, and review staff’s work
- Identifying appropriate accounting benchmarks and executing planned metrics (DSO, DPO, etc.)
- Participate in financial standards setting and budget/forecast process
- Provide input into department’s goal setting process
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain accuracy and strengthen internal controls
We’re Excited About You Because You Have…
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3-5 years of working experience in public accounting or staff accountant role
- Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP
- Strong financial analysis, organizational, and stress management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; experience with accounting software a plus
- Ability to train and manage staff
- Ability to take ownership of workload and meet deadlines with little or no supervision
- Attention to detail and ability to efficiently and effectively prioritize while working on multiple projects
- Strong standards of excellence and resourcefulness
- CPA certification preferred
- Excellent team player and collaborator
- Ability to make decisions and work independently to keep clean and auditable records
- Strong analytical, verbal/written communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
