Senior Accountant

 TITLE: Senior Accountant DEPARTMENT: FinanceREPORTS TO: Chief Accounting OfficerLOCATION: Madrid, SpainROLE TYPE: Full time, Permanent, Hybrid  Role Overview:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with: monthly general ledger accounting entries, which include, but are not limited to payroll, inventory, leases and accruals, bank and account reconciliations, monthly account variance explanations and reporting, as needed.

• This position reports to the Manager, GL Accounting
• Assist in the implementation of Oracle Cloud functionality for the purpose of automating and streamlining accounting processes.
• Prepare monthly journal entries to record accounting activity related to commissions, payroll, inventory, leases and accruals, as needed.
• Assist with general ledger activity questions for the consolidated and statutory audits as the need arises.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations related to material general ledger accounts.
• Complete a monthly fluctuation analysis and provide commentary related to the accounting results for the monthly reporting package.
• Continue to refine the monthly general ledger accounting process to increase efficiencies and improve controls.
• Assist with ad hoc projects and responsibilities as needed.

Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting
• 3-5 years of relevant experience from public accounting and/or multinational company
• Oracle Cloud experience preferable but not required
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and internal controls
• Detail-oriented with demonstrated oral and written communication skills
• Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt to change
• Strong Excel skills a plus
• Fluent in English and Spanish
