Consolidated Asset Management Services ("CAMS") is seeking to hire a Senior Accounting Associate. This position requires a wide variety of duties and candidates must be willing to "roll their sleeves up". The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of accounting experience. Power generation accounting experience is a plus.
CAMS provides quality, competitively priced project, asset management, commercial and operations services to the power generation, E&P, and midstream sectors of the energy industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for cash management and daily accounting for assigned projects, including lead communication with the client, asset manager, lenders, bank representatives, and vendors.
- Responsible for performing monthly accounting closing process.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to provide to the client, lenders, and other third parties that require financial reporting deliverables.
- Prepare consolidation model for quarterly and annual financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly management reports for the client.
- Maintaining a strong client relationship as the key point of contact for accounting on assigned projects.
- Manage all debt compliance requirements and prepare required debt certificates and disbursement requests from the trustee.
- Analyze and review operations and maintenance expenditures incurred by the assigned projects monthly.
- Perform monthly budget to actual analysis.
- Prepare annual operating budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare comprehensive work papers for outside auditors.
- Prepare tax supporting documentation for outside tax consultants.
- Support Asset Manager with financial models, contract compliance, and day to day operations.
- Maintain a strong system of internal accounting controls.
- Responsible for ad-hoc requests from client as needed.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in accounting with at least five years of financial audit or project accounting experience.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience.
- Strong analytical skills to analyze financial and operational information.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities; must be a self-starter and take the initiative in completing projects and assignments.
- Solid knowledge and experience with GAAP accounting and financial reporting.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- A driven individual who wants to grow professionally and be a part of a team environment.
- Customer focused with strong attention to detail and capable of delivering accurate, quality results in a timely, consistent, and professional manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills to be able to effectively work with internal and external resources.
- Presentation skills to effectively communicate monthly financial updates to clients.
- Strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
Preferred
- CPA or MBA with an emphasis in accounting.
- Experience in the energy industry, specifically power generation or renewable energy.
