DESCRIPTION
Aetion's Senior Accountant is a proactive and action-oriented individual who supports a high performing finance team across a variety of functions. This position involves a keen understanding of Aetion's business and will be involved in various accounting and financial activities while working as part of the Accounting team. This position will be at the forefront of contributing to the financial strength of our fast paced and growing organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the monthly financial close by preparing account reconciliations, submitting journal entries, and working with other cost centers to obtain relevant information.
- Prepare monthly expense analyses and explain trends/variances.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations with supporting schedules.
- Assist with implementation and enhancement of revenue system
- Maintain sub-ledgers and other supporting schedules
- Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures
- Support Leadership with various ad-hoc analyses and management reporting.
- Design monthly financial close procedures in order to obtain more accurate and timely results
- Interface with external auditors, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
- BA/BS in Accounting (required)
- 3+ years working with Excel including advanced features (Pivot Tables, V-Look ups, SumIfs etc.)
Preferred
- Strong ability to self-motivate and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly detail oriented, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external customers to maximize performance, creativity, and problem solving
- Excellent written and verbal communication; strong business writing and communication abilities, including the ability to effectively document the procedures performed to complete an assignment, the results found, and conclusion reached
- Licensed CPA (or parts of the exam passed) and/or Big 4 background
- Prior experience with a cloud-based ERP preferable (NetSuite or Intact)
- Experience with SaaS/recurring revenue businesses (and ASC 606 compliance)
- Cost and project accounting experience
- Problem solver with thoughtful, efficient, and automated solutions
- Understanding and experience with Software Licenses, SaaS, and Project accounting
At Aetion, internal pay equity across teams is our top priority. The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $100,000. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data.
