Job Description
- Responsible for day-to-day accounting operations such as accounts payables and receivables, closing processes following US GAAP ( Annual, Quarterly, Monthly ) and reporting financial statement following Japanese GAAP
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Analyze financial data and create report for management, stakeholders and external parties
- Provide technical accounting support and oversight for significant and complex transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and others as well as new accounting standards.
- Manage and monitor fixed and current assets such as inventory, cash, etc
- Improve accounting procedures and workflow
- Review and analyze accounting issues, and initiate corrective actions
- Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting
- Cooperate with internal parties such as accounting department in Japan and external parties to ensure proper accounting practices
- Perform ad hoc duties related to accounting
- Assist with the annual external audit processes
Requirements
- BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years experience as an accountant or as an associate audit
- Analytical and issue-solving skills
- Team player with leadership
- Strong desire to improve operations and efficiency
- Ability to accept ambiguity and uncertainty and create change on one's own
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in the manufacturing industry and SaaS business
- Experience in tax ( corporate tax, sales tax, fixed asset tax, etc )
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance. CPA is a plus.
- Proficiency in utilizing financial systems and reporting packages as well as Microsoft Office products.
