Senior Accountant

Position Purpose: Support the Finance Department to ensure the successful execution of the financial close, reconciling the balance sheet, budgeting, variance analysis, and work paper preparation for the annual external audit.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Verify aging reports, bank reports, inventory reports to reconcile with the General Ledger
• Provide reports and analysis as required for external auditors
• Prepare monthly management reports; analyze accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards
• Assist with auditing functions
• Reconcile reports in ERP system
• Review general ledger accounts, identify any problems, and proactively research to locate best possible solution to resolve the problem
• Prepare financial reports and oversee their evaluation
• Present various accounting reports to Controller and Executive Director and make suitable observations and suggestions
• Miscellaneous projects as needed

Job Requirements/Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of general accounting experience
• Accounting Degree preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with NetSuite a plus.
• Strong planning skills
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a group
• Ability to learn and become proficient in software to expedite the processing of accounting transactions.

*The base salary range represents the low and high end of the expected salary range for the position. The base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors such as geographic location, experience, education, and skill level.
