Senior Accountant
Job Description
The Big Ass family is growing! The Senior Accountant position, reporting to the Assistant Controller, is a key member of the Big Ass Fans accounting team and is responsible for the month-end close/consolidation process, generating timely and accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP.

Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and execute the various functions of the accounting department to work toward the overall goal of providing, accurate and timely financial information in accordance with US GAAP and Company policy.
- Key member of the month-end close/consolidation process, including the recording of journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and calculating various balance sheet reserves.
- Assists with preparation of internal financial statements and other reporting requirements.
- Maintain the ERP financial reporting system in order to meet the needs of management and other reporting requirements.
- Initiate research to identify business or operational issues that affect the company's accounts and effectiveness, as well as recommend ways of improving existing systems and processes.
- Prepare monthly analyses on changes in accounts and communicate findings and recommendations to management.
- Participate in annual audit, prepare audit schedules, resolve audit issues identified by external auditors; provide support to internal parties and external auditors during year-end audits.
- Lead in developing an environment that creates "best practices" processes and systems and challenge current practices in an effort to locate efficiencies.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with other departments to achieve business objectives
- Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 years of general accounting experience is preferred with preference to those with prior experience in manufacturing
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent) required, CPA and/or Master's preferred
- Public accounting experience preferred
- ERP systems experience is required (experience with Epicor is a plus)
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills required including strong working knowledge of Excel
- Strong ability in managing changing priorities and ability to meet deadlines required
- Must have strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Must be able to pass a background and credit check
