Senior Accountant

The General Ledger Accountant demonstrates attention to detail and ability to consistently generate a high-quality work product within the Finance Department. Reporting to the Supervising Senior Accountant, the GL Accountant’s responsibilities will include the reconciliation and balance of most general ledger accounts.   

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and revenue accounts monthly.
• Perform account analysis, review financial reports, identify and explain variances.
• Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare reclassification, deferral and correcting journal entries and accruals for month-end and year-end close.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Support and participate in the external financial audit.
• Perform other duties assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably working with non-profits or healthcare clinics
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of the accounting cycle and accounting rules (GAAP/FASB).
• Strong understanding of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and payroll systems.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills with experience in financial and variance analysis.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and stress management skills.
• Experience with computerized accounting ledger systems, preferably Abila MIP.
• Experience with G-Suite Applications.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel worksheets, including advanced applications.
• Ability to prioritize and work accurately with close attention to detail, strong time management skills and an ability to work within defined deadlines.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team.

Position Details and Compensation:

This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Supervising Senior Accountant. Salary range $70,000-$85,000 DOE, and includes benefits, 403b, and performance-based compensation plans.
