The Delivery Enablement (DE) team supports internal stakeholders by providing a robust operational backbone across TAS, TES, OCFO, PI, IM, IB and TRS. The team includes Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Marketing, Data Analytics, Accounting & Finance and Delivery Excellence. As Portage Point continues to scale the DE team is laser focused on scalability, quality and automation.

 

The Senior Accountant role at Portage Point Partners represents a unique opportunity for a highly capable professional to assume a wide set of responsibilities and make a significant impact in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This role is the second in our finance organization and represents a distinctive opportunity for uninhibited personal and professional development. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will own critical accounting processes to maintain a best-in-class accounting function. The Senior Accountant should be prepared to work within a small, collaborate team environment to manage discrete work streams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and evolve day to day aspects of the accounting and finance function, including invoicing and collections management, managing requisitions and disbursements and administering critical systems and processes
  • Manage compensation and 401(k) program systems and disbursements
  • Assist Controller with month end closing process, internal / external financial reporting, annual budgeting process, KPI reporting and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Support external audit and tax preparation 
  • Share and manage best practices as well as lead internal trainings where required
  • Support talent acquisition and firm development efforts
  • Contribute to creating a high-performing and inclusive culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate program
  • Interested in a team-based culture that involves in office four days per week
  • Two to three years of experience at a top tier public accounting firm
  • Valid CPA status
  • Strong desire to be a part of and contribute to the growth of a high performing team dedicated to unfettered individual and firm level achievements
  • Experience with SageIntacct, Intapp or DealCloud preferred
  • Ability to successfully work in a small, collaborative team environment
  • High degree of maturity with a proven ability to interact with senior executives, private equity firms, lenders, lawyers, middle managers and line workers
  • Effectively communicates analysis through Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint including high-quality messaging, structure and formatting
  • Eagerness to be responsive at all times
  • Proven track-record of success in high pressure, time-constrained environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong e-mail etiquette
  • Top-tier organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit
