Senior Accountant

THE OPPORTUNITY

Amylyx is seeking a highly motivated professional with accounting experience who can apply accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely results, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. This position will be a key member of a cross-functional accounting team and will report to the Lead, Accounting. The individual will be responsible for managing critical accounting areas, reconciliations, corporate accruals and ad hoc reporting. This position will have significant interaction with Amylyx business leaders. 

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare monthly account reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting  
• Participate in monthly PO accrual meetings with business owners and prepare required accrual journal entries
• Reconcile cash transactions in a timely manner
• Prepare intercompany markup calculations and journal entries
• Calculate T&E accruals
• Assist with the preparation of the actual vs. actual analysis
• Manage month-end close tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion
• Support internal SOX and external audit requirements
• Assist in the interim and year-end audit process
• Participate in process improvement activities, including enhancing current financial processes and suggesting areas for improvement
• Support the senior management team with various analyses and ad hoc projects

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (advanced Excel preferred)

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• CPA preferred, or a clear path towards finalizing qualifications 
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus
• Big 4 or public company experience

Work Location and Conditions

• This is a remote friendly role, but you must reside and work within the United States, and in a state where Amylyx currently does business, to be considered. Any change in your remote location must be approved by Amylyx
• You will be required to follow Amylyx’s Remote Work Policy which includes:  
  • traveling to our corporate location in Cambridge, MA several times a year and attending other company-related events as necessary and requested, which may include travel by air, driving, or public transportation.
  • working in a setting that meets all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to communicate via video conference, etc.) at your remote location
