Senior Accountant

HireStrategy is searching for a Senior Accountant for one of our top growing clients in the Washington D.C. metro area. The Senior Accountant is to provide timely and accurate financial information to support the company's performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly journal entries for month end reporting deadlines
• Preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparation and review of bank reconciliations
• Preparation of monthly financial analytics
• Responsible for maintaining and reviewing commitment schedules
• Preparation of monthly roll forwards
• Assist with the annual audit process for both interim and year end
• Documentation of accounting policies and processes
• Provide assistance with internal SOX documentation and compliance, including the understanding of internal controls
• Prepare, maintain and adhere to GAAP Accounting policies
• Creating ad hoc reports for Management

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA & MBA preferred
• 3-5 years related experience
• Strong computer skills with MS Excel
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be able to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
• Must be organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task
• Must be able to communicate professionally and maintain good working relationships with all employees
