About Your Team
Your team is responsible for all aspects of managing the agency’s finances to ensure the agency stays compliant with all applicable laws and that the agency can continue to provide services throughout the communities in Rhode Island. 
What You’ll Be Doing
You will assist the VP of Finance in overseeing the success of the department, which includes managing grant reporting, creating internal efficiencies, learning and managing new opportunities under value-based payment streams and other changes within the industry as they evolve.
Your Main Priorities
While additional responsibilities are likely to arise on the job, you will primarily:
• Supervises staff in the Finance department to ensure all work is completed accurately and in a timely manner; this includes cash management functions and ensuring monthly reconciliations of cash and subsidiary ledgers. 
• Manages state and federal grant reporting under the supervision of the VP of Finance. 
• Develops and trains Finance staff on best processes of financial functions. 
• Monitors compliance with state and federal contracts and grants, ensuring all reporting requirements are met including researching new funding options. 
• Assists in the preparation of monthly financial accounting reports for agency operations. 
• Assists VP of Finance of year end audit and tax returns. 
• Ensures the department’s scope of service meets the needs and expectations of internal and external individuals. 
• Assists VP of Finance in development of policies and procedures for financial management of agency, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. 
Who You Are
Requirements, Skills & Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required. 
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting required. 
• Experience in a non-profit and/or public accounting setting preferred.
• Strong organizational, critical thinking and time-management skills.
• Basic computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to communicate and effectively interact with a diverse population.
• Collaboration and teamwork. 
• Leadership.
Physical Requirements
Operational Staff:
This position involves work in an office setting. Tasks include operating a computer for extended periods, communicating with colleagues, and occasional lifting of office/department materials up to 25lbs. The role also requires the ability to sit for extended periods, bending, reaching, hearing and vision.
