Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to help support our Finance department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex puzzles, building relationships, finding ways to continuously improve process, and loves leveraging technology to manage transactions all while maintaining a high level of accuracy. You will collaborate closely with our Senior Accounting Manager who is eager to coach, invest in your career path, and help this candidate be creative with their future while making a huge impact on society by reducing food waste! 

About the role

• Manage day to day Accounts Payable duties
• Manage vendor records and review contracts
• Process vendor invoices and weekly pay runs
• Enforce internal policies
• Review employee expense reports
• Reconcile credit card transactions
• Be the point of contact for any internal/external disbursement inquiries
• Perform the month/year-end close process and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with evaluating and implementing new systems and processes
• Ensure that our internal policies and procedures are up to date
• Assist with preparing for audit-readiness such as drafting technical memos on our internal accounting procedures
• Collaborate on projects and ad-hoc reporting

*Note that this role has the long-term potential to move into different areas of accounting

Skills and Experience

• 3-5+ years of progressive operational accounting experience, preferably in SaaS startups
• Solid knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
• System savvy - experience with QBO, Airbase, nice to have
• Excellent problem solver
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and G-Suite applications
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other related fields
