Senior Accountant
Job Description
Dallas, Texas’s largest free-standing, out-patient Imaging Center seeks an Assistant Controller. Our facility averages approximately 80,000 exams/annually, including MRI, CT, PET/CT, Sonography, DEXA, Mammography, and Diagnostic Radiography.
Job Summary:
The Assistant Controller has primary responsibility for the general accounting for SWDIC and CMI. Duties include monthly financial close, reporting, and account reconciliations as well as provides accounting and analysis support to the Controller.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform the following functions for both SWDIC and CMI:
a) Accurately and timely close books full end to end accounting.
b) Assists with the preparation of the annual budget, quarterly forecast and monthly analysis of variances.
c) Prepares schedules and responds to inquiries for the annual audit.
d) Prepares Balance Sheet account reconciliations
e) Researches and resolves account reconciling items in a timely manner
Cash Management:
a) Analyzes the daily operating account activity and reconciles it to the Business Office transaction journals.
b) Analyzes the daily bankcard activity data for the account reconciliation.
c) Accurately reconciles bank accounts monthly to ensure properly reported.
d) Researches and resolves cash reconciling items in a timely manner.
e) Maintains records on outstanding items, performs due diligence and files unclaimed property reports with the State Comptroller.
Fixed Asset Accounting:
a) Maintains the fixed asset, depreciation records and support documentation.
b) Performs periodic inventories.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
• Works with Controller and Compliance Committee to ensure Compliance Program is followed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficient computer skills are required, especially Excel and Word.
• Advanced account reconciliation skills.
• Able to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, organizational skills, math skills, accurate typing, and data entry skills.
• Ability to deal professionally, courteously, and efficiently with the public.
• Treat all patients, referring physicians, referring physicians’ staff, and co-workers with dignity and respect. Be polite and courteous at all times.
Education and Experience:
• Graduate from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Minimum of five years healthcare general ledger accounting required.
• Experience using accounting software, including accounts payable and general ledger modules.
