Senior Accountant

Rheem Northeast Distribution is the combination of four separate distribution companies in New York and New Jersey, acquired by Rheem Manufacturing in 2021 and 2022. The role of Senior Accountant is a new position, created to continue supporting the combination of the accounting teams into one department, aligning processes, as well as account analyses and reviews.

The position will be located in either one of our New Jersey offices, or Islandia, NY.

What You'll Do

• Prepares and enters month end close journal entries under a tight deadline
• Maintain and reconcile asset and liability accounts to the general ledger
• Assist in establishing and documenting internal controls
• Review and document procedures, recommending improvements towards efficiency and standardization

• Complete bank reconciliation on a daily basis
• Analyze data and recommend courses of action to maximize profitability
• Research, resolve and respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner
• Reconcile open intercompany balances between the companies to guarantee accuracy
• Calculate Commissions for sales and branch teams
• Assist A/R and A/P teams as necessary
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

Qualifications:

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

• 7+ years of broad accounting experience

• Certified Public Accountant designation preferred

• Experience with Inventory

• Good decision-maker who is well organized and can prioritize and plan ahead

• Excellent communicator and listener who is assertive yet personable and flexible

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - with emphasis on Excel and Teams

• Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.

• Experience working with Prophet 21 (P21) or ERP system a plus

Pay scale for this role based in Colorado, Washington, California or New York City, New York is: $102,700 - $164,300. Please note all pay ranges are broadly stated and any final offer is dependent on factors such as location, direct experience, market guidance and internal equity, among other qualifying criteria.
