This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant, Captive Management in the United States.
This role provides an opportunity to manage the financial and regulatory operations for a portfolio of captive insurance companies in a fast-paced, highly client-focused environment. The Senior Accountant will play a critical part in ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and smooth client communications. You will work both independently and collaboratively with account teams, providing expertise in general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and regulatory filings. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on precision, accountability, and delivering high-quality financial services. The environment combines technical rigor with client engagement, offering exposure to complex captive insurance structures and cross-functional collaboration.

Accountabilities:

  • Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts for captive insurance clients.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and delivering monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Preparing and filing premium tax returns and regulatory reports accurately and on time.
  • Supporting client financial audits and attending Board of Director meetings as required.
  • Coordinating with clients, third-party service providers, and state regulators for compliance and reporting.
  • Communicating effectively with clients daily to address financial inquiries and provide updates.
  • Partnering with account teams to ensure seamless delivery of high-quality financial services.

  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA designation preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of financial accounting experience, ideally in captive management, insurance, or related industries.
  • Experience with insurance accounting, auditing, or general public/commercial accounting.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial accounting/general ledger software.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients and internal teams effectively.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 5% as needed.
