WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a Consolidations Senior Accountant to join NIKE's Global Controlling team to represent our team on various Strategic Enterprise Capabilities (SEC) projects, as well as play a role in the monthly/quarterly/yearly close and consolidation process, financial reporting, and audits. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of accounting and US GAAP, analytical/critical thinking skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to link financial results to operational performance drivers. This person will also have the proven ability to respond to and prioritize changing demands and be able to work collaboratively in a diverse group comprised of multiple partners.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you will work closely with a cross-functional team of representatives from Global Controlling, Technology and the SEC program team on specific projects supporting the launch of our financial reporting solution of the future. You will also be part of the team that is responsible for the preparation of consolidated worldwide financial statements and financial statement reviews. You will be supporting the Global balance sheet review process and preparing consolidation entries, account analysis, supporting schedules and financial calculations for all reporting cycles. Additionally, you will work to identify and implement process improvement initiatives and prepare ad hoc financial analysis as required for Management and in support of financial reporting requirements.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
This person will report to the Consolidations Manager and work closely with teams across the SEC program, NIKE Technology and others in the Global Controlling and Finance functions as needed. Additionally, your role will involve partnering with Geography LER2R teams, External Reporting, Global Value Streams, Master Data, Global Tax, Treasury and Global Business Planning to discuss and resolve accounting issues to ensure proper recording and reporting. You will also collaborate with external/internal auditors in planning and reviewing year-end and interim audit requirements.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
- 3+ years of related experience; Big 4 or public preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting and finance and external audit requirements, ideally a mix between public accounting and industry experience
- SAP/BPC financial and accounting reporting systems/applications experience preferred
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills along with the ability to take initiative and be a self starter
- Proficient Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical/critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse group comprised of multiple team members
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to share ideas and develop effective responses to higher management audience
- Ability to exercise professionalism, skepticism and confidentiality
