Senior Accountant - Dallas

Compass is recruiting for a Senior Accountant role providing the opportunity to develop you into a well-rounded accounting professional in a highly visible role and opportunities for future development.

Main Responsibilities:

• General Ledger accounting and reconciliations
  • Maintaining multiple general ledgers, preparing/posting journal entries, reconciling accounts and preparation of other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
• Bookkeeping for our software development subsidiary entity and recording of monthly intercompany elimination entries.
• Monthly closing of subsidiaries, including support schedules, accruals, intercompany and fixed assets.
• Develop and continuously improve accounting procedures each quarter.
• Assist and support with external audit process.
• Contribute to process documentation and creation of internal control and accounting policies as the Company continues to grow.
• Review and process expense reports in Expensify.
• Help prepare quarterly and annual audited financial statements and footnotes.
• Review monthly fluctuations in the Income Statement and Balance Sheet for operating entities and record accruals.
• Involved in continuous improvement in NetSuite processes and standardization for reporting and functional uses of NetSuite.

Qualification:

• At least 4 years relevant experience in accounting/reporting/audit.
• Public accounting experience is preferred.
• International Company experience is preferred.
• Real estate industry experience is preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
• CPA is preferred.
• Fluent spoken and written skills in English required. Other languages could be a benefit.

Knowledge & Skills:

• A highly motivated, results-driven professional who can simultaneously manage multiple projects.
• A team player who has the interpersonal skills and personality to influence other team members of the team.
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and IT skills. 
• Ability to adapt - Accounting standards/projects change at an accelerated pace, and he/she must be able to deal with constant changes to meet the needs of the Company.
• Detailed oriented with strong critical thinking skills.
• Good understanding of US GAAP required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• NetSuite experience is preferred but not required.
