This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant in Switzerland.
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a central role in managing and improving core financial processes for a dynamic and fast-growing organization. You will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting while driving process efficiency through automation, technology, and AI-assisted tools. In this position, you will collaborate closely with internal teams and external providers, supporting financial close, treasury, and expense management processes across multiple entities. Your work will directly impact decision-making, operational efficiency, and the scaling of finance operations. The role offers autonomy, opportunities for process innovation, and exposure to cross-functional projects in a hybrid work environment.
Accountabilities:
- Lead monthly financial close for all entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting from internal and external accounting sources.
- Manage Procure-to-Pay processes, including approval workflows, general ledger coding, system postings, and payment run execution, leveraging automation to enhance efficiency.
- Maintain Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable sub-ledgers, ensuring reconciliations, accurate postings, and effective monitoring with automated tools.
- Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets accounting, and detailed cost centre analysis.
- Support treasury and cash management, tracking liquidity, cash balances, and funding across bank accounts.
- Manage employee expense processes end-to-end, using AI-powered platforms for policy compliance, receipt matching, and automated categorization.
- Contribute to finance projects, system implementations, and process improvements, championing the adoption of AI and emerging tools.
- Operate autonomously with high accountability, ensuring structured work, consistent execution, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or Brevet fédéral de comptabilité.
- 5–10 years of experience in senior accounting roles within Swiss-based international SMEs.
- Strong financial reporting knowledge under IFRS, Swiss Code of Obligations, and/or US GAAP.
- Proven experience supporting finance projects, system implementations, or process improvements.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Curiosity and openness to exploring AI tools and technology to enhance finance operations.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with clear and diplomatic communication.
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are advantageous.
