Senior Accountant, External Reporting and Technical Accounting

The Team:
This role will report to the Senior Director of Technical Accounting & External Reporting. This role is part of the wider Finance organization at Celonis.
The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant, External Reporting and Technical Accounting to assist in all technical accounting matters and global reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills, the ability to work well with various business partners and functions and be highly organized with the ability to pay close attention to detail.
The work you'll do:

• Preparation of annual U.S. GAAP financial statements and related footnotes
• Preparation of technical accounting memos and other documentation necessary to support the Company's accounting conclusions and treatment (including related journal entries) over significant revenue, lease, equity, and other technical accounting matters/transactions.
• Coordination of other filings, including statutory financial statements
• Serve as an internal technical accounting resource to help implement new and emerging FASB and SEC accounting pronouncements as well as assess the impact on reporting and disclosures
• Research and documentation of technical accounting inquiries and related disclosure requirements for all non-recurring transactions
• Keep up to date on industry trends related to financial reporting and technical accounting including review of industry leader's filings and disclosures for best practices
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.

The qualifications you need:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Active CPA license
• At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience, including at least 2 years of Public Accounting experience and 1 year of SEC Reporting experience with a public company
• Big 4 experience is a plus
• Must have experience working with SEC clients (if coming from public accounting) or at an SEC Registered Company (if coming from private)
• Must have a strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting.
• Must have a deep understanding of ASC 606, preferably in the software industry
• Must have shown the ability to perform independent accounting research and the subsequent framing and documentation of accounting issues along with the related conclusions
• Experience with Workiva or similar XBRL software is a plus
• Prior SaaS/Software industry experience a plus
• Experience with IFRS is a plus
• Experience with ASC 842 and ASC 606 is a plus
• Strong sense of integrity, responsibility, and accountability

The base salary range below is for the role in the specified location, based on a Full Time Schedule.
Total compensation package will include base salary + bonus/commission + equity + benefits (health, dental, life, 401k, and paid time off). Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and that the actual total compensation offer will be determined based on various factors, including, but not limited to, applicant's qualifications, skills, experiences, and location.
The base salary range below is for the role in New York, based on a Full Time Schedule.
$57,000 - $105,000 USD
