Senior Accountant, Finance Operations

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant, Finance Operations is a vital position on our growing Finance team.  In this role, you will be responsible for managing both critical operational finance and financial accounting processes.  These processes are technically complex and directly impact the company’s financial results.  These processes are also not quite mature and evolving so this will serve as an opportunity to create a valuable impact in shaping our processes.  A successful Senior Accountant will focus on ways to structure and stabilize internal processes, setting them up for scaled growth over the next 1-2 years.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Be responsible for bi-weekly cash reporting and planning.  The Accountant will be counted on to make recommendations for optimizing overall cash and support our FP+A team with monthly cash outlooks.
• Be responsible for both the operational and financial accounting processes that support our Employee Stock Option program.
• Be responsible for managing financial processes related to operationally complex areas of our business.  Specifically:
• Own responsibility for our Life Marketplace monthly accounting.
• League rewards points accounting
• Accounting for equity related transactions
• Own responsibility for certain monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Support the Controller with technical guidance and research, as needed across a range of technical topics.
• Support with completion of our annual external financial statement audits.
• Support with ongoing process changes to ensure a strong internal control environment.
• Completion of other special projects, as required.

What we hope to see in your experience: 

• CPA, CA (CAD) or CMA designation
• At least 2+ years work experience outside a firm, with a preference for experience in a SaaS software company.
• Experience in Netsuite considered a strong asset
• A track record that demonstrates the ability to evolve quickly and execute in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, multitask and prioritize.
