Senior Accountant- Financial Reporting

Neiman Marcus Group is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team. The Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for all internal and external reporting, including quarterly and annual reports, internal reporting packages, variance analysis, filings, and various other deliverables on a timely basis. This position plays an active role in accounting research, implementation, and documentation.

This team has high visibility to leadership, frequent cross-functional collaboration with other corporate teams at Neiman Marcus including finance, legal, operations, people services and other specialized accounting teams. Key Performance Elements

• Prepare and ensure timely, accurate and GAAP compliant quarterly and annual reports
• Prepare/assist in creating the Company's internal reporting packages
• Prepare variance analysis of balance sheet, revenues and expenses compared to prior periods
• Prepare quarterly earnings release schedules which include an analysis of operating results and key balance sheet items
• Perform technical accounting research, prepare documentation and assist in implementation of accounting standards
• Prepare documentation for and coordinate with audit teams
• Assist in special projects, ad hoc requests and initiatives as required

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Undergraduate degree required; Accounting or Finance preferred
• 4 or more years of experience in a similar accounting role
• Public accounting or equivalent industry experience preferable
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with accounting/reporting research tools
• Excellent financial analysis skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational and follow through capabilities
• Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment
• Excellent Microsoft Office and other standard office suite software skills
• Experience with Oracle and Hyperion Essbase is a plus
• Ability to work independently, prioritize deliverables and manage time to meet required deadlines
• Flexibility and adaptability, willingness to collaborate with others and contribute as a member of a team
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with a critical thinking and proactive approach
• Emphasis in financial reporting experience is a plus
