Senior Accountant - Hybrid

FloWorks is a leading specialty industrial supplier of pipe, valves, fittings and related products and a provider of technical solutions to the energy and industrial sectors. Privately held company located in Pasadena, Texas.

The primary focus of this position is to analyze financial data and maintain FloWorks financial systems for general ledger accounting.

Hybrid role + Quarterly bonus based on company performance.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

• Duties include monthly close and consolidations, monthly financial reporting, assisting with annual audits, preparation of policies and procedures, and process improvement activities.
• Maintain systems to ensure the accurate, timely, and proper accounting of financial data using GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Analyze financial data, making recommendations relative to the accounting reserves, accruals, and expenditures.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly financial statements for management review.
• Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
• Conduct special studies and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures.
• Coordinate accounting matters with other departments, locations, and divisions.
• Be knowledgeable regarding consolidation issues including foreign currency translation, intercompany reconciliation, and eliminations.
• Establish, modify, and coordinate the implementation of new accounting control procedures, as necessary.
• Performs additional responsibilities or special projects as assigned.

Training/Experience:

• BS Degree in Accounting from an accredited College or University
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a related field required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level) required: Example (V-Look up, Pivot Table)
• Effective time management skills and detail-oriented
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with all levels of management and employees.
• Must be a self-starter, problem solver, and critical thinker.
• Must have a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management a plus
• Strong inventory experience a plus
• Larger company a plus
